Kacey

As you can imagine, being a single mom to 5 little ones (age ranges from 15 months to 13 years) does not come without significant challenges, especially when you’re living below the poverty line.

After several failed attempts (primarily due to her children’s schedules and her being their only caretaker), she was finally able to get a job with flexible scheduling and secure spots for two of her youngest children at Childcare Network. With the help of Better Fi, she was able to refinance her payday loan .

As luck would have it, her car began having issues. This is catastrophic for her as she resides in Hixson and heavily relies on her car for work, for errands, grocery shopping, and for transporting her children to daycare and various appointments. The local dealership she purchased the car from picked the car up via tow truck and made the repairs. However, her rent recently went up, so she only has $160 of the $300 cost to repair her car.

Scenic City Angel was able to help with the cost of her car repair to help get her back on track.

We truly believe she is capable of making it out of the vicious cycle of inter-generational poverty, but she certainly needs some help getting there (as anyone would in her situation). She is looking forward to the day when she is free from government programs and can sleep soundly.
