Ongoing Support

The Seed Theater provides a hygiene closet in the heart of downtown Chattanooga.
They supply the residents of Patten Towers with necessities such as soap, toothpaste,
toilet tissue, etc.

The Chattanooga Public Library Foundation runs an ongoing childrens’ program called
Charley Cart. This teaches nutrition and offers cooking classes for kids, using healthy
options. It also introduces foods from other cultures and traditions and participates in
special events for children at the library.

More than 1,000 children and teens have explored, created, and learned this year!

🍎 Hands-On Food Learning

  • 665 children (toddlers to teens) participated in Flavor Labs cooking experiences.
  • 45 children (ages 6–12) joined 7 Make & Play Saturdays at the Eastgate Branch, making fun treats like Pineapple Whip, Waffle Ironed Grilled Cheese, Dirt Pudding, Mochi Ice Cream, and Fortune Cookies for Lunar New Year.
  • 60 teens enjoyed pizza during our Library Late Show after-hours events.
  • 141 teens were served snacks during Teen Advisory Board meetings at the Downtown and Avondale branches.
  • Upcoming Mini Pumpkin Pie and Apple Pizza programs will reach an additional 125 preschoolers and toddlers — bringing our total to 1,000+ children served through food-based learning!

  • Electronic drum set to complement the piano station (with headphones!).
  • New headphones for public computer use.
  • Cricut heat press for creative vinyl projects.
  • Expanded storage and new video game gift cards for multiple branches.
  • Additional upgrades planned for next year alongside the 50th Anniversary Downtown Library renovation.

The In-Between is an organization run by Eric Hubbard. The In-Between’s mission is to
provide needs-based services to include supplemental assistance to low-income families
experiencing difficulties making ends meet as a preventative measure to combat the
increase of homelessness in the Chattanooga area.

The Boys and Girls Club received help from SCA for back to school supplies for some
of their kids. This organization offers tutoring and after-school care at all their locations
in the city. It gives these children a safe place to get help with homework and snacks
after school and childcare programs and sports opportunities during the summer
months.

CALEB is the Hamilton County Community Bail Fund. We donated to this organization
to help supply bail to those who would otherwise be incarcerated when they can’t pay
for bail while awaiting a court date.

Love Period is an organization run by Dominique Gable. This group supplies feminine
hygiene products to schools, youth centers, and public locations ensuring that these
essentials are available to all women and girls. The hope is that this will decrease
absences from schools for girls and women.
